The Haus of Glitter (in partnership with AS220 + Creative Justice Lab) is a Dance Company + Performance Lab + Preservation Society whose mission is to shift the energetic center of the universe towards care, healing, justice and freedom.
Seven years in the making, the award-winning Historical Fantasy of America is The Haus of Glitter’s genre-defying dance opera, activist mermaid fairytale and glitter-filled reckoning with the stories America tells about itself. It’s an adapted and evolved work from The Historical Fantasy of Esek Hopkins, a workshop performance in response to The Haus of Glitter’s residency with The City of Providence + Dept. of ACT in the Former Home of Esek Hopkins, Commander of the slave ship Sally.
In it’s final form, the premiere announces the cast featuring BECKY BASS, AJA, LADY D, SIDY MAIGA, and more.
Friday, November 20th, 2026 is the Happy Hour and one-night premiere, followed by a community gathering and discussion on November 21st.
