The Emerging Artist Fellowship is a paid apprenticeship program for young adults, ages 21-25 who seek to explore pathways as an Arts Administrator, Teaching Artist, and Community Curator. The intent of this fellowship is to formalize pathways for graduates of our existing youth program, AS220 Youth, and other young adults to transition into professional careers within our organization and the larger Rhode Island arts community. Like AS220 Youth, the Emerging Artists Fellowship will center those who historically have had limited access to formal arts education and workforce development opportunities. In Rhode Island, this includes, but is not limited to, BIPoC youth, those with previous or current involvement in Rhode Island’s child welfare systems, those who are formerly incarcerated, parents and caregivers, and those interested in seeking a bachelor's degree for whom traditional higher education is out of reach.
