You too can now LIVE at AS220!
AS220 has three spaces opening up in fabulous downtown Providence! One is located in our main Empire St building on the third floor and the other in the Mercantile Block around the corner, mere moments away from res
taurants, nightlife, a grocery store, farmer’s market, and myriad venues of entertainment guaranteed to facilitate all of your wildest dreams coming true. The details are as follows:
- The Empire Street space measures 324 sq feet and rents for $406. This is a single-room studio.This residence is on a communal floor with shared kitchen and bathrooms and individual live/work spaces. All tenants share in the chores related to the communal spaces. As an AS220 floor3 tenant, you are responsible for monthly rent and paying $10 toward floor maintenance supplies (“kitty” money). AS220 takes care of heat, hot water, and Internet access costs.
- The Mercantile Block has one subsidized vacancy on the third floor which measures 700 square feet and rents for a total tenant payment of $631. Tenant is responsible for rent and the electric bill. There is an income limit to apply for this space; your annual gross income cannot exceed $26,500.
- The Mercantile Block also has one vacancy in an unrestricted unit (no income cap for this unit). The space is unit 401 on the 4th floor in back of the building. This apartment is 789 sq ft and rents for $1055 per month. Tenant is responsible for the electric bill.
All our residents in the subsidized units contribute 5 hours of volunteer service
to AS220 each month. (Don’t worry! It’s fun stuff, like working the door at shows, or showing off your swanky design skills.) No parking is provided and, sorry animal lovers, but no pets are allowed in the Empire Street space and cats only at the Mercantile (if you are willing to pay a nonrefundable pet deposit). It is our expectation that our tenants are actively pursuing some form of artistic expression. It is part of our mission to keep artists in the 24-7 downtown mix of our beloved city, Providence, RI.
