Yes on 5!
On November 4th, vote YES on 5!

On Election Day 2014 (that’s Tuesday, November 4th, folks!) in Rhode Island, the passage of Question 5 would authorize the state to borrow $35 million to support improvements and construction at arts facilities and historic sites around the state.Read AS220’s in-depth plans for these funds!Arts and Preservation have been the lifeblood of the Rhode Island economy for decades. Question 5 will create jobs and grow our economy. The nine organizations named in the bond alone account for nearly $200 million in annual economic activity and more than 1,900 jobs in Rhode Island. During the life of the bond, the improvements made to the facilities will create 612 temporary jobs and 568 permanent jobs.In addition to the nine performing arts organizations named in Question 5, the bond would fund a competitive matching grant program for other eligible arts facilities across the state. Question 5 also provides $5 million for State Preservation Grants which repair historic buildings open to the public. These are places we use daily: town halls, theaters, museums, park structures, libraries and other community sites. The highly successful program has been dormant since 2008 due to a lack of funds.
