AS220 has two work studio spaces available at the Dreyfus, 95 Mathewson St, in downtown Providence. This building is also home to the AS220 Project Space Gallery, a total of 4 work studios, 14 live/work studios, and the AS220 administrative offices.

Both work studios are available starting December 15. The smaller work studio is 180 square feet and rents for $225 per month, and the larger of the two studios is 215 square feet and rents for $250 per month. The security deposit for each unit is equal to one month’s rent.

Digital work samples are encouraged; if you have work to submit that cannot be shared in a digital format, please let us know when you send us your application. Applications are due on Sunday, November 22. We will interview the first 6 applicants so submit complete applications.

Volunteerism has been central to sustaining the AS220 community over the years, going back to the renovation of our first building at 115 Empire St, which was completed almost entirely through the work of hundreds of volunteers. We ask that each artist/tenant contributes 5 hours per month in community service to AS220. This requirement has been suspended for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

There is no car parking included; paid street parking is available very close to the building. We are located on several major bus lines and are close to Kennedy Plaza. We have a bike parking room available in the building adjacent to the Dreyfus. The Dreyfus is a non-smoking building.

AS220 takes COVID-19 prevention seriously. We clean high-touch surfaces in the Dreyfus daily and ventilate our spaces with outside air as much as weather provides. Most staff are working remotely; a maximum of 2 staff are on-site at the Dreyfus on any given day. All staff wear masks when outside of their offices, and all tenants wear masks when outside of their studios. These work studios share a floor with the AS220 administrative offices.
