Our illustrious AS220 VISTA of the Month is Gaby Mollinedo!

Gaby, hailing from Guatemala and a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Graphic Design, is working toward her 3rd year as an AmeriCorps VISTA with AS220.  She currently supports much of the design needs and communication developments within the organization.  To elaborate,  AS220’s Communications Department is responsible for collaborating and/or directing the development and delivery of all activities associated with public relations, marketing, outreach and external communications.  Gaby’s position works to publicize programs, events, and organizational initiatives; communicate with current and potential users, supporters, and representatives of the media in a way that distinguishes AS220’s public voice as a unique entity.

Additionally, Gaby holds education and the mentorship of young people close to her heart.  She has been instrumental in fostering creativity, freedom of expression and positive self-esteem for at-risk youth through graphic design education programs and by creating opportunities for them in the community.

She says, “I love working with people who view design as a means of helping others and making an impact, big or small. I love the design process and the discoveries we make when we create.”
