The Yellow Wallpaper Series is “… an ongoing multimedia work stemming from a feminist critique of the mental health system, and referencing the work of author Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Created in Google SketchUp and exported as two-dimensional images as well as short video walk-throughs, the work is a comment on the paternalistic nature of our current mental health system, and is a part of an ongoing exploration of the effect of the treatment environment on recovery from mental and physical illness.”

Jodie Mim Goodnough is a Providence, Rhode Island-based artist whose work revolves around the use of images in psychology and psychiatry, and includes photography, sculpture, performance, video and sound. She attended the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in Portland, Maine and received her MFA from Tufts University in May 2013. Her work has been shown nationally in both solo and group exhibitions, including at the Midwest Center for Photography, the William Morris Hunt Library of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and at Spring/Break Art Fair in New York City, and has been reviewed in publications such as Art New England and the Boston Globe. Goodnough is currently on the faculty at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI.
