The Un-United States of America; Artists Confronting Racism

In light of current national events about #whatlivesmatter in America today, AS220’s Main Stage hosts a performance event and forum discussion. How can artistic expression aid us in understanding what it means to be “different yet equal” in American society?  How can art serve as a vessel for dialogue building between different communities and help us make our country a more just and equal place to live? Please join as as performance artists, poets, writers and art makers share short works on themes of institutional inequality, civil rights, and American identity.    For the second half of the event—the forum discussion—audience members are invited to share their work, or their thoughts.
