AS220 Youth’s Zu-krewe has been very busy this term! This hip hop act is the real deal and they showed it again at Rock the Block festival. New Urban Arts hosted the event, where many community members came to show love and support for everyone involved. Featured artists were Dj Anudi, Girls Rock, R.I.Youth Poetry Slam team, New Urban Arts, Manton Avenue Project, and AS220 Youth’s Zu-krewe.

AS220 Youth was represented by young artists KGR, Jay Lew, Mastermind, and Manami, who were also part of AS220 Youth’s first theatrical performance FUTUREWORLDS: UPRISING, an afrofuturist hip hop theater performance presented this past September 9 & 10 at the Pell Chafee Performance Center. These young musicians had the crowd moving to their dope beats and hooks as they performed. The energy of event was great! It was awesome to see the whole community come together.

This weekend, KGR and Plan B-eye will tag team for the PVD Loop Fest in Providence for a special performance of beat-making at its rawest form! Come By AS220 on Oct 1st! They will make live beats on the spot! Producers will be using everything from mpc’s to native instrument machine, looping pedals, Ableton, and much more!
