Not My Dance Card
NOT MY DANCE CARD: Jocelyn and Jeff Foye at the AS220 Aborn Gallery
In conjunction with AS220’s Modern Movements Dance Festival
Aborn Gallery
95 Empire St. Fl. 2 | Providence, RI
Opening April 1st, 5-6:45 p.m.
Jocelyn and Jeff Foye are Los Angeles artists who recently moved to Rhode Island. Both Jocelyn and Jeff are engaged with redeveloping their artistic processes and interests in relation to their new vantage points in New England. Individually, their work has dealt with notions of movement in both experimental means of capturing movement and presenting and reframing movement through video editing. Jeff’s medium is primarily video, where examining intimate aspects of social interactions is a favorite subject. At AS220, Jeff will present a video work based on aggressive play, a reference to movement associated with modern dance. Jocelyn’s work has focused on arresting movement through idiosyncratic plastic sculptural reliefs. For this show Jocelyn will present multimedia works straddling art and design, generated from the imprint of dancers.
Hours: Open one hour before all festival performances, Saturdays 12-5p.m. and by appointment.
