AS220 Galleries is excited to announce new one-of-a-kind monotype prints that will be included in our AS220 Flat-File Project by Artist Janet Van Horne.
“I work in several mediums. Collage, printmaking, painting, instillation, altered photography, and mixed media. I studied Fine Art at Silvermine College of Art in New Cannan, Connecticut, as well as Humanities at Harvard University. These 5 monoprints were first painted with acrylic on plexiglass and hand rolled using a rolling pin onto water soaked and blotted Rives BFK paper then air dried. Traditionally each print would be hung as a [free floated] piece within a frame behind glass in order to expose the perimeter edges of this type of French paper.” – Words curtesy of the artist
