Course Description:

This course will cover 3 types of relief processes over the three week duration.  The first week will cover basic, one color printing techniques and explore different tools and materials for cutting and carving.  Transfer of images onto blocks will also be explored to allow for exact replication.  The second week will cover the reductive, multi color woodblock process allowing for a wider value range in terms of color, detail, and finished image.  The final week will explore multi block color printing and layering allowing students to use everything they have learned thus far to achieve layered, multi-dimensional imagery.
