Any pro will tell you the road to becoming a better cartoonist or illustrator is storytelling. The art forms are all about conveying a narrative. This workshop is a perfect crash course for anyone wanting to learn how to make comics, graphic novels or illustrations that speak to a viewer. Whether it’s start forward, abstract, traditional or digital, all the basics will be covered in this intensive class. This workshop is geared for ages 13 and up.
Instructor : Steve Mardo is a freelance illustrator from Rhode Island who has studied
at the School of Visual Arts in New York and received his BFA in illustration from MassArt in Boston. Clients include American Cancer Society, Northeastern Magazine, Dig Boston, The Pet Gazette, The Motif Magazine, Light Publications, Locust Moon Comics, Hope Media, Middle Center Productions, Improper Bostonian, Rhode Island Monthly. His art has also been showcased at Gallery X, AS220, 13 Forest Gallery, AnnMarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center and Gallery 1988.
