This is a workshop to teach you the basics to get you up and running to edit video.
The work you do in art, education, marketing, or advocacy work can benefit from video projects and this workshop will show you the essential tools and workflow to make a video from start to finish. Maybe you are a beginner waiting to make your first project or want to move from iMovie to software that gives you more creative control, this workshop is for you. The class as a whole will walk through the entire editing and post-production process for making a short one-minute video using media provided to you as well as other projects you might have. Bring some media and a hard drive!
Get up to speed on the basics of video editing and post-production including:
• Importing and organizing your files
• Choosing your shots
• Basics of editing your project
• Adjusting the audio
• Adding titles and credits
• Exporting your project
• Uploading your video to the web
The AS220 Media Arts lab is equipped with Apple computers and the entire Adobe Creative Cloud suite. You are welcome to bring your own computer as long as you have Adobe Premiere which can be downloaded here and comes with a 30-day free trial.

Location and Parking
AS220 Media Arts is located at the Mercantile at 131 Washington Street Providence, Rhode Island on the 2nd floor. The entrance is located at the back of the building on Lucie Way (Martha Street on GPS and computers); the shop’s double doors are at the Northwest corner of the building. There is 2 hour metered on street parking available, bring your quarters. We are also located near a parking garage with entry on Washington Street, look for the big blue parking sign.
Important Class Policies
Please be respectful of the short time you and the other participants have to learn, and be on time. If you arrive more than a half an hour late, we will not be able to teach you. Plan ahead, it always takes time to find on street parking.
To cancel your reservation you must email chris@as220.org at least two weeks in advance, or risk losing your payment.
CANCELLATION OF CLASSES
If minimum number is not met in class enrollment, the teacher may opt to cancel class. If this is the case, we will give a full refund of class payment and first choice to enroll in future classes. We will attempt to give as much notice as possible, thank you for your understanding.
