WORK IT OUT: the work and labor play is the culminating performance of The Manton Avenue Project’s TAG TEAM program, an afterschool playwriting course held at MAP’s Clubhouse in Olneyville. Nine young playwrights, 5th and 6th graders, will collaborate on a play about work. For this project, The Manton Avenue Project partnered with the Coggeshall Farm Museum, The Steel Yard, and the Museum of Work and Culture. The playwrights have been learning and discussing the history of work and labor in Rhode Island, and in their own families. The resulting production will be directed by MAP’s executive artistic director Meg Sullivan, and star local adult theatre artists Bobby Casey, Jess Halpin, Jeff Hodge, Nicole Maynard, Kelly Seigh, and Rodney Witherspoon.
