Direct From Philadelphia for Four Performances Only:
Why is the death of a female artist romantic? Why is the concept of the dead woman—from Millais’ Ophelia to Lana Del Rey’s 27 Club envy—seductive? She Is a Problem is a devised theatrical experience that explores these questions through the lives and works of Francesca Woodman, Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, Diane Arbus and Kay Sage; five extremely different artists, united by their choice to commit suicide. In an immersive, gallery setting, audiences are given a close and intimate examination of these artists’ creative splendor and psychological struggle.
