The Rhode Island Writers Colony returns to Providence for its sixth year to host its Writers-In-Residence Reading. Hosted by award-winning and New York Times Best Selling author, Jason Reynolds, the Writers-In-Residence Reading will feature the voices of Mateo Askaripour, Carla Dupree, Lena Hamilton and Qurratulayn Muhammad.

The Rhode Island Writers Colony is the brainchild of the non-profit arts organization, Third Floor Studios, founded by brothers Brook and John Stephenson. Held annually in Warren’s historic district, the two-week residency provides momentum and support for emerging writers whose voices are often under-represented in traditional publishing.
