A little punky, a little funky. Reverend Bastien returns w/ Tiberius Johnston on the Bare Drum and Michael Deragon thumping the bass to give you a slack induced travel ready dose of hobo heartbreak on the rail car rock n’ roll.
“…sounds like some sort of pre-funk meets folk science experiment while the lyrics take the adventure theme and run with it.” -Motif Magazine
“…a cross between Big Pink-era members of the Band and Desperado-era members of the Eagles.” -Phoenix
Mike Baez is a singer-songwriter currently living in Southern New England. 2015 marks a new chapter for Mike, as he has relocated from Kauai, Hawaii, back to his home region as of March. Living on Kauai from early 2011 through the beginning of 2015 was a fantastic and inspirational journey. His experience playing for visitors from around the world has helped to expand his repertoire and hone his craft. He is anticipating a release of a collection of his original material in the Fall of 2015.
He has been performing for most of his life, cutting his teeth from the subway stations of Boston to some of the premier clubs and music venues in Boston and New England. Now playing on a solo basis, throughout high school, college, and beyond, Mike has had the opportunity to play with friends and fellow musicians in bands where songwriting was the focus. His longest musical endeavor, On The Drop, enjoyed local success in New England over a 10 year span, having played in front of crowds as large as 5,000. The band shared the stage with Sean Paul, State Radio, Badfish, The Rustic Overtones, and supported 311. He gained extensive recording and production experience at RMI Studios in Sturbridge, MA. His influences include Martin Sexton, Paul Simon, Bob Marley, Ben Harper, Joshua Radin, Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, State Radio, Tom Petty, and many more.
