Reduction Woodcut Printing with Lindsay Weitzman

Learn to carve and print 3 color woodblock prints using just one block in this three session workshop! Reduction Woodcut is a relief printing method used to create multiple color prints from the same block. This technique allows for expressive carving and an intuitive and responsive process, plus less waste! This 3-week workshop will culminate in an edition of 5 3-color prints and may also act as an introduction to printing with color. We will learn how to prepare the image, block, paper and ink, and how to plan color separations. This will include discussions on color theory and layering/combining colors. We will also learn how to finish, number, sign, and care for prints and editions. No previous experience necessary!
