A rap slam is a hip hop poetry competition with three rounds. Round 1 will be one minute a cappella. Round 2 is two minutes with an instrumental. Round 3 is three minutes an participants can choose to perform a cappella or to an instrumental but it must be a piece they have never performed for an audience, aka new shit.
