AS220 Dance Studio
95 Empire Street
3rd Floor, Providence

All classes take place at 95 Empire Street, 3rd Floor Dance Studio.

Open-Level Movement Fundamentals (dancing) is based on much of the somatic work that became fundamental in dance education i.e. Pilates, Yoga, Laban Movement Analysis, Irene Dowd, BMC and Alexander Technique.

Students expect a warm up that really prepares and stimulates the body to be ready to move. Movement progressions that offer a layering or cumulative practice and a sensible piece of working at your own pace. Relishing the joys of movement!

Katie McNamara (She/Her/Hers) is a teacher of the body and a movement seeker currently living in Pawtucket with her partner Olase Freeman and their two children. She has been blessed with many great dance experiences, from the stage to her kitchen. She took a deep dive in her education during the pandemic through dissection courses that heightened her ability to customize bodywork in relation to the body in front of her. Katie is certified in Pilates through NPCP and holds a BA and MFA in Dance.
