Denizen Arts: is a collaborative creative project formed in 2016 and conceived by dance/performance artist yon Tande and theatre practitioner Jude Sandy. DA: is informed and inspired by African diaspora cultural and art-making traditions and seeks to be a locus and resource for the creation of new works and renewed discourses on contemporary complexities of the human experience. The “performance technique” workshop utilizes “Walk the (pink) Elephant” as an experiential point of departure integrating the body, voice, materiality and ultimately spirit.
