Live Bait’s Sixth Anniversary Show: Free on July 4th!
(Sort of…)
Two hundred and thirty-eight years ago, this country of America, a beacon of hope unto the world, was founded. A mere two hundred and thirty-two years later, “Live Bait: True Stories from Real People,” a different sort of beacon, but a beacon nonetheless, was founded as Providence’s premier, true-life storytelling show. It is time to celebrate the birthdays of both. On the same night! With food! And firecrackers! And stories, lots of stories! Appropriately, the theme for this blessed event is “Free.” (Remember, that’s the theme, not the price of admission.)
If anyone has a true-life story that in any way, shape or form fits July’s theme, they merely have to come to Live Bait, put their name in the fishbowl and, when their name is called, come up and tell it. No notes, no rants, no stand-up routines, and there is a six minute time limit.
What better way to celebrate this nation’s independence than to get up on stage and actively practice freedom of speech (within limits, of course)?
