“Listen to the Silence” is an intimate 4 hour vocal exploration laboratory, where we will work on developing basic vocal use, integration of voice into body and developing listening techniques for solo and group improvisation. A maximum of 12 participants will allow much individual attention and focus. By solo and group improvisation we will expand our perspectives, making only sound and making only silence, learning the importance of space. We’ll play with our bodies and voices to release self-consciousness and create our own personal tools to enable freedom of expression. Together we’ll expand the concept of “singing”, “instrument” and “music”. “Listen to theSilence” isn’t just about singing, it’s about sound itself.
