Students will learn how to fabricate a woodtype ornament from AS220 woodtype collection. Once the ornament is created, a series of prints will be made using the letterpress machine in the downstairs printshop.

Instructor: José Menéndez

José R. Menéndez (b.08/80) grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is a graphic designer and a landscape designer with ten years of experience in landscape architecture and urban design. José completed an MFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2017. This Spring he will complete a Master of Marine Affairs from University of Rhode Island. At URI, he focuses on the application of information design and graphic design to climate science communication. He is currently teaching a Design/Technology course for the Department of Jewelry + Metalsmithing at the Rhode Island School of Design.
