After a year and a half of isolation from audiences and playing with other musicians, Ryan Kowal and Benjamin Shaw broke their performance fast with a stripped back, high intensity set of improvisations. With a duo of drumset and saxophone, the setting was primed for maximum communication and agility. Using graphic scores as a template for improvisation (which were projected behind them), Ryan and Benjamin explored elements of music beyond just notes.
