Consider this as a night where the next generation of players is going to show you what their music is all about. From friend of the series Leland Baker comes his latest outfit made up of fellow young players out of New Bedford. Wobbajack presents a ragged mixture of funk, jazz, blues, and hip hop. This instrumental quartet can explore and extrapolate grooves for days; that is, until making left turns into other sonic alleyways at the flip of a dime. Getting things started will be the Four Agreements, a jazz fusion quartet based out of Narragansett, RI. Formed as a weekly jam by a group of friends, the band features series alums Clay Nordhill on guitar, Tom White on keyboards, Sam Kurzontkowski on bass, and Paul DiMartino on drums. The group uses original compositions as a vehicle to explore possibilities in sound and communication. You’re going to here a wide range of styles and influences with this show, all brought to you by the generation thats going to carry RI jazz into the future.
