Coming up on August 5th is another exciting round of ITJ at AS220!

First up on the night we have the Goldman/Mazza/Kowal Trio. Max Goldman (drums), Phil Mazza (guitar), and Ryan Kowal (vibraphone) have been working on new compositions and improvisations. They are building a repertoire of tunes that push each instrument beyond conventional roles and feature extended techniques. Their free improvisations build upon dynamic listening and interplay that at times sounds as though composed. A set of music from this trio is always fresh, exciting, and thoroughly entertaining. Closing the night will be newcomers to the series The Jake D’Ambra Quartet. This young quartet’s goal is to spread the word of jazz and become the pioneers that help bring its sense of purpose to those around the world. They state that “more people need to feel the message of jazz, one of America’s oldest and proud music genres. Our group plans on joining the many jazz messengers in the quest to spread our message to those eager to hear it. Forget what you heard about jazz, we are hear to bring a new meaning to the music anyone shouldn’t live without experiencing”.

The night kicks off at 9:30pm with admission being only $10. Come on by!”
