  • Two – Session workshop Offered in June, July, August and September!!

Learn how to use the laser cutter to cut or etch wood, plastics, papers or textiles AND learn how to use the vinyl cutter to make stickers, signs, and more! This class will cover the basics of using the laser and vinyl cutter safely, techniques for working with different materials, and software tools for preparing work for the cutters.

This is a hands-on workshop; bring a project if you like!

Our laser cutter is an Epilog Mini 24 The work area is 24″ x 12″, and it can hold items up to 8″ tall. We also have a cylindrical attachment that allows you to etch cylinders such as glassware. AS220’s vinyl cutter is a Roland Camm-1 CX-24 and can take vinyl rolls of 15″ and 24″ in width.

After taking the workshop, you will have a solid understanding of what the machine can do and how to design a project. Students will be certified to use the Labs’ laser cutter after completing this follow up session.

    Prerequisites:

While it’s not mandatory, we strongly encourage students to have experience with vector design.
