Using Javascript to animate for the web!

What  is code, and how do we write it?  Writing code and software is all too often shrouded in mystery, as if only the highly educated or super nerdy can do it. This class is intended to help move away from that mindset and empower you to learn this highly relevant skill.

This class will use p5.js, a programming language derived from Javascript (the second most used programming language in the world) and an excellent tool to learn real life programming skills. We will work on coding animations and audio/visual experiences for the web, creating simple and beautiful sketches.

Instructor: Matt Mena-Landry.  Matt is a musician and digital artist. He has won several awards for his video production, teaching, and program development. His main interests are; ensuring that media and technology have a significant place in the core of education and how we relate to the world, instructional technology, supporting youth media production, and developing collaborative pedagogy using digital media tools. He is very excited to be able to share his approach to learning how to code creatively with the AS220 community.
