This course will introduce the design and registration methods necessary for screenprinting repeating patterns.  We’ll go over different types of repeats, creating a jog line, and options for designing by hand or on the computer.  Then we’ll get into the technical aspects of registering and printing a repeating pattern on our AS220-sized version of a typical textile printing table.  Each student will be able to design one one-color pattern and print 2 yards of fabric. This class is intended for students that have taken our Intro to Silkscreen class, or who know the basics of the photo-emulsion silkscreen process.

About the Instructor: Beth Brandon conducted her first experiments with infinity in the studios of Brown University, where she earned a BA in Visual Art in 2004.  More structured investigations followed with an Apprenticeship and Print Fellowship at the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, where she learned the methods that she teaches in this class. Beth is a Key Member at AS220 Industries.  She combines printmaking and digital fabrication processes to create a range of practical objects and amusing situations.  www.bethbrandon.com.
