This five-week course is designed for those with some experience printing black & white who are looking to further hone their skills. The objective: to master the scientific in order to explore the creative. Classes will cover setting up a darkroom, mixing and tweaking chemistry, contrast control, dodging, burning, flashing, washing, toning, spotting, print finishing, breaking down a darkroom and exhibiting your work. This workshop meets at The Paul Krot Community Darkroom at AS220 and the final class will meet at Stewart Martin’s personal darkroom in Providence, RI.

Required Materials: Please bring your own paper and negatives (35mm, 120, 220, 4×5). All darkroom chemistry is provided during the workshop. This is an intermediate-level workshop. If you do not have prior experience in the darkroom, take a look at our Intro to Darkroom workshop which happens each month:shop.as220.org/products/intro-darkroom
