The music of Great Gale took root in 2010 when the first lyrics were written as a series of poetry in coastal Maine. After turning the poems into songs Great Gale began as a Providence based experimental folk duo in late 2015 with the release of the self-recorded demo Somewhere Moving. Partnering with artists to add additional media, the band continues to create largely feminist inspired expression.
