Rhode Island packs a lot of punch when it comes to social innovators and organizations working internationally and having global impact – join us for the first Global Gathering of the year to hear stories from Andy of Smaller Cities Unite and Lucia of Plantón Móvil and connect with others with interest in international work.

Andy of Smaller Cities Unite:
Andy is an urban explorer, mentor, communications designer, civic ambassador, and engaged citizen curious about about innovation, collaboration and experimentation. He’s passionate about art, design, student civic engagement, and entrepreneurship. Smaller Cities Unite! a global initiative connecting students, entrepreneurs, artists, and designers from cities with under 1 million residents.

Lucia of Plantón Móvil
Lucia is driven by a belief that art and education are transformative tools that can change the way we live in our cities. From Lima, Peru, Lucia is pursuing her MFA in Sculpture at RISD and is a Social Innovation Fellow at the Social Innovation Initiative at Brown. Plantón Móvil is a community development project in Lima, Peru, a walking forest that peacefully claims its place and respect in the city by linking art and social change.

Whether you work full time in international affairs/global development or more generally have interest in international travel or business, you’re invited to stop by and connect with others forging global connections from Rhode Island. Please spread the word! All students, entrepreneurs, designers, social innovators, academics, and interested community members are welcome.
