At the January Providence Geeks meetup, we welcome Unruly Studios, the makers of Unruly Splats, which are programmable, stompable floor tiles that help kids learn fundamental coding skills through recess-style play. Unruly Studios vision is to build ridiculously fun learning tools and experiences for the young people who will create the future. Unruly tools combine active physical play with tough-to-learn concepts in technology. They engage all kinds of kids in learning experiences to build resiliency to thrive in tomorrow’s world.
In this kid-friendly edition of Providence Geeks, come and hear the Unruly story from Chief Development Officer David Kunitz and Hardware/Software Developer Shawn Wallace. Unruly Studios will have some Splats set up for your coding and playing enjoyment.
The Unruly team is made up of experts in cognitive science, toy manufacturing, education, and technology with experience on teams at Scratch, the MIT Media Lab, Hasbro, Mattel, Nickelodeon, iRobot, and Disney. Investors include Techstars, LearnLaunch, AT&T, and Amazon.
