At the May 15 Providence Geeks, Ross Nelson from Cox Business will join us to talk about their upcoming Get Started Rhode Island entrepreneur competition,
The Get Started Rhode Island is a “Shark Tank” like pitch competition and was started as a way for Cox Business to give back to the entrepreneur community. 2019 will be the seventh year that Cox presents this event and it will take place on October 2 at WaterFire Arts Center. Cox is currently taking applications for pitches. You can sign up at getstartedri.com.
Each year the event has grown in number of applications, attendees, and organizations that get involved. PBN, RevUp Capital, and Cumulus Radio are its sponsors but many organizations are involved in other ways, including ProvidenceGeek
Cox Business is the business-to-business division of Cox Communications. Cox Business provides business class Internet, voice, video, premise based security, and hosted managed services to businesses of all sizes. The Northeast region covers all of Rhode Island, about 15 towns surrounding Hartford, CT and an area around Cleveland, OH.
Here at Providence Geeks, we’re all about choice. You can RSVP at Meetup, Facebook, or truth be told, just show up. Your RSVP helps us know in advance how many people to expect, but RSVPing is not mandatory.
AS220’s restaurant is undergoing renovations, so the restaurant will not be open. The bar will be open, though. Please feel free to eat before you arrive, or bring your own food and eat there. There are lots of takeout/delivery options downtown.
