The class introduces new photographers to DSLR cameras. Students will learn fundamentals of photography, how to navigate their digital cameras to control exposure through aperture, shutter speed and ISO, and how to take creative photographs with their DSLRs.
The class will start with an overview of how a camera works and an introduction to general digital terms. Students will learn camera functions and basic photography concepts. Most of the class will focus on learning about exposure. Students will first learn about shutter speed and aperture by using S (TV) and A (AV) priority modes, and finally how to combine both through manual mode. In addition,participants will learn about the pros and cons of ISO, how to read and use histograms, white balance, metering modes and lens options.
