97 Admiral Street
Providence RI
Running weekly on Saturdays at 9:30 am from September 19th til October 17th. Outdoor classes are held at the Haus of Glitter Performance Lab + Parq at 97 Admiral Street, Providence, RI.
Dancers examine habitual and non-habitual movement patterns within the body and space through gentle warm-up exercises and short phrase work. Various contemporary dance techniques will be introduced weekly. Pace of the class is slow – with attention to detail and the needs of dancers. The class is geared towards absolute beginners/novice dancers. More experienced dancers may also find the class appropriate as a warm-up class or simply a chance to slow down their practice.
Lea D’Arminio is an Italian-American Providence/Boston based dancer, educator, and choreographer as well as a yoga instructor and fitness professional. As a teenager to young adult, Lea has had the honor to work with choreographers Dan Karaty, Wade Robson, Tyce Diorio and Brian Friedman. As a professional for over 10 years both at home and abroad, Lea has danced, choreographed and taught for GeaDanza of Trieste, Italy to Urbanity Dance in Boston. She works hard to establish a judgment-free zone for all movers – emphasizing the importance of understanding, community and support in shared spaces. Lea is looking forward to a joyful return to AS220 this fall with street jazz & contemporary fundamentals!
