Blackletter is a creepy, apocalyptic rock band from the Providence area who as young children dreamed of being vampires, David Bowie and even Lovecraft’s musical accompaniment.

Blackletter’s first EP, “Digital Vinyl-Station15” was released in the winter of 2015 to local praise: “Hell Hath Fury is an original, intense prog-rock version of Metallica’s ‘Unforgiven’ with a NIN bridge and piano outré.” –Marc Clarkin of Motif Magazine. Blackletter was a 2015 WBRU Rock Hunt finalist and appeared that year on BRU’s Home BRU’d. In 2016, they were featured on WHJY, Boston Rock Radio and internationally on German and Australian radio. Blackletter has shared the stage with the Giraffes of Brooklyn and the Ghost Wolves of Austin, TX. They regularly play The Met, Jimmy’s Saloon in Newport, Ralph’s Rock Diner in Worcester and Boston venues such as Charlie’s Kitchen. Little known fact: Blackletter’s lead vocalist was once likened by a bewildered fan to “a duke proclaiming from a mountaintop.”

Hailing from southern New England, The Holographics may be new (formed in 2016) but they’ve wasted no time making a name for themselves in Providence and beyond. With appearances at Fete, Alchemy, AS220 and PA’s Lounge, these young upstarts are creating a buzz with their unique brand of alternative, pop-tinged rock, putting a modern spin on influences far beyond their years (Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin). They’re currently in the studio recording their debut album. Come out to see them live and see what the buzz is all about.
