BEGINNER SILKSCREEN: WEEKEND SESSIONS @ AS220 Industries

A comprehensive introduction to screen printing covering stencil design, troubleshooting, registration, proper print procedure, and multi-colored
prints.

  • Saturday and Sunday, January 15th and 16th

Screenprinting is a versatile process that can be used to transfer graphic images to paper, wood, and fabric. It is ideal for making prints, posters, coasters, greeting cards, stationery, and more. Your instructor will walk you through the process and help you gain the skills you need to confidently plan and execute your next project.  This will include making your design into an acetate, coating and exposing a screen, and the printing process.

Instructor: Tito Guerrero (he/him)

Tito is a multimedia artist ranging in fashion design, silkscreen, creative direction and graphic design. Born and raised in Providence, RI, he has been involved with AS220 for over 7 years. Tito owns a brand named “World of Celestians.” The name celestian/celestial relates to the sky or sky being. Tito has a strong passion for planetary space and their brand highlights futuristic, spiritual messaging and post apocalyptic wear.

What to Bring to Class:

  • Imagery to work from Illustrations or computer files on a flash drive or in your email.  (Keep it simple at first: 2 colors, the text should be at least 8pt, avoid very thin line work.)
  • Opaque drawing tools for film  (Oil-based paint marker, poster paint marker, fast-drying ink for film; we recommend “Permapaque”)
  • Paper is not included, so please bring some with you to each class.  (Any type of paper will work, Bristol pads, printmaking papers)
  • Sketching/drawing tools
  • Sketchbook
  • Pencils
