Counter-Productions Theatre Company is thrilled to present its final world premiere with Kevin Broccoli’s new comedy, “The Married Name.” This biting play revolves around a soon to be married couple, Rex and Dan, and a dysfunctional dinner party with their best friends Al and Ethan.

“I’m so excited to be a part of the final Counter-Productions season,” says Broccoli, “especially with this particular play that I wrote with their company in mind. CPTC has always been the best place to go in Rhode Island for theater that goes right to the edge in terms of risk and daring while still offering downtown audiences polished acting and thoughtful productions.  The Married Name is a knock-down, sophisticated Battle Royale about friendship and modern marriage with an explosive ending that’ll have everybody talking.”

”This show features a quartet of explosive, passionate actors,” says the play’s director Victoria Ezikovich, “who have brought Kevin’s words to life with such skill, nuance, and vigor, their work is simply a joy to watch.”

“CPTC has always been known for work that leaves audiences, captivated, shaken, or inspired,” continues Ezikovich, a resident artist with the company. “It has been my great joy to come into my own as a theatre maker at CPTC, an amazing place for new and emerging artists to experience the highest level of professionalism, skill, and creativity in the heart of our art capital. I’ve had opportunities to not just hone my abilities as an actor but discover myself as a designer, director, and artist. It is an incredible honor to be directing here in CPTC’s final season.”
