When AS220 purchased and renovated a permanent home on Empire Street in Providence, one of the first programs to spring up in the new environs was the AS220 darkroom, now known as the Paul Krot Community Darkroom. With support from the Rhode Island School of Design, Sprint Systems of Photography, a dedicated group of volunteers and staff, and the community at large, the darkroom has continually offered affordable, public access and instruction in the realm of traditional darkroom photography. Currently, it is the only publicly accessible darkroom in Rhode Island.

Please join us during the month of April as we celebrate 20 years of the darkroom, with a variety of ways for you to participate in what is not only supporting this wonderful resource, but is also a key way you can participate in BUILDING AS220!
