August 8: RI Mini Maker Faire Returns (Call for Makers is open)
It’s back! The 7th annual Rhode Island Mini Maker Faire will be happening on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 1pm to 8pm. Taking place at the same time as Foo Fest, and adjacent to it, this year’s Faire will take place in the Pell-Chafee Performance Center at 87 Empire Street.
At the Maker Faire, you’ll find builders, designers, tinkerers, innovators, craftspeople, engineers, hackers, scientists, garden wizards, and robots from across the Northeast. You’ll also find hands-on making experiences made available to the community from both sponsors and makers. We expect thousands of community members, designers, technologists, and industry-leading professionals to participate in our events, making the Maker Faire an ideal venue to see Rhode Island’s innovators on display, as well as makers from all over the region.
The Rhode Island Mini Maker Faire is still recruiting makers; you can apply to exhibit at http://bit.ly/RIMF2015Call. Prospective sponsors can find details at http://makerfaireri.com/sponsor/.
Tickets are $7 in advance (before fees; $10 day of the show) and free for kids 10 and under (both in advance and day of the show)! If you already have a Foo Fest ticket, you’re all set. Foo Fest tickets will get you into the RI Mini Maker Faire and vice-versa:
