Well, it’s now official…AS220 Youth is recipient of a 2012 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award, presented by First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House on Tuesday afternoon!

AS220 Youth Director, Anne Kugler, and member Justin Espinal, 16, received the award from the First Lady. AS220 Youth was one of fifty finalists, chosen from a pool of 350 applicants from around the country, and one of only twelve organizations to win!

We thank the President’s Council on the Arts and Humanities for this wonderful recognition! We are all extremely pleased with all the hard work that the staff and members of AS220 Youth have done, and continue to do, that makes them so deserving of this honor.
