Jobe’s current work,
Music for Three Hurdy-Gurdies, was
commissioned by the
First Works Festival
in Providence, Rhode Island and had its premiere as part of that festival on October
5th and 6th, 2007. The score features all three of the hurdy-gurdies that Jobe plays
or has developed. The performance showcases a fifteen member ensemble of singers and
instrumentalists weaving an exotic tapestry of sights and sounds using the Glass Bells,
Gong-Drum, bowed strings, bagpipes and tromba marina! Internationally recognized
virtuosos
Daniel Thonon (hurdy-gurdy) and
Chris Turner (harmonica) work their magic.
The following videos are from the October 5th and 6th performances.
