Super Chief Trio

In 1999, Keith began playing solo gigs at a smoky basement bar called The East Bay Regatta Club, located in Bristol, RI. The casual nature of the place and it's affable owner, Sonny Furtartdo, allowed for experimentation with new songs, new arrangements and inspired a higher level of musical intimacy. Soon, trombonist/vocalist Pam Murray was brought on board, adding her considerable talents to the sound, and the duet continued this semi-regular stint, gathering a few devoted fans along the way. Finally, longtime friend and hotshot drummer Johnny Coté was added, and The Super Chief Trio was born. Able to leap from ragged New Orleans second line beats to smooth, sultry ballads, the trio's song list continues to grow.

The Regatta Club has since moved across the street to a ground-level spot on State Street, and you can catch the Super Chief's there about twice a month. (If you're lucky you might even see folk/pop diva Erin McKeown sitting in.) You can also catch them at the Providence Bookstore Cafe, or better yet - book them for your next house party. They pack a big sound into a small package.
