The Saluton Mondo ("Hello World" in Esperanto) boards are a series of electronics kits that are compatible with the Hello World boards in the Fab Academy curriculum. They're based on the Attiny85 and Attiny44 microcontrollers, and are a nice easy introduction to surface mount soldering techniques. You can follow along with the Fab Lab introductory electronics production methods without owning a milling machine or etching your own circuit boards. They also fit nicely in breadboards, if you like that kind of thing.
